On a recent visit to Ntchenachena in Rumphi District, students from Asker High School, Norway, witnessed the transformative impact of Find Your Feet’s efforts under the NCA/DCA Malawi Joint Country program. The visit provided an opportunity for the students, led by Sara Løvlien, to engage directly with pre-nursery learners at the Mdimwa Community Based Childcare Centre, offering them a firsthand look at the significant strides being made in early childhood development (ECD).

The students were deeply impressed by the level of community ownership and leadership driving ECD activities in the area. Karoline Mehammer, one of the visiting students, expressed her delight in seeing the young learners enthusiastically participating in singing, dancing, and showcasing their cognitive skills. This engagement highlighted the positive outcomes of the ongoing ECD programs supported by Find Your Feet.

In her remarks during the visit, Sara Løvlien pledged to continue mobilizing resources in Norway to further support ECD activities in Rumphi. She emphasized the importance of sustaining these efforts to ensure that children in the community continue to receive the foundational education they need to thrive.

The visit by Asker High School underscores the vital role of international partnerships in advancing education and development initiatives in Malawi. The collaboration between Norwegian Church Aid Malawi, DCA Malawi, and Find Your Feet continues to create meaningful change in the lives of young children, fostering a brighter future for the community.
